The world is right again. I screened the rough cut of Black Horizon today in class and it went well. No jeers or major criticism tonight, just praise. Well, there were some minor criticisms, but I they were ones that I agree with and will fix, but aside from that it's going pretty well so far. Anyway, what mattered to me the most was that my class finally took my film seriously. After the opening scene the whole class went silent. Silence not like that of shock or "I'm watching a flop", but silence like "I'm really involved with this film." I felt nothing but pride that night. That's what I needed. I guess I'm not Ed Wood after all.
